AI Program Manager, Manufacturing

Milwaukee, WI | Full-Time | On-Site

A North American manufacturing company based in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an experienced AI Program Manager to build and lead a portfolio of artificial intelligence initiatives across the organization. This role is responsible for identifying automation opportunities, delivering measurable outcomes, and scaling successful AI solutions across plant sites and corporate functions including Operations, Sales, Marketing, IT, HR, and Finance. The position sits at the intersection of program management, business process improvement, and applied AI, and requires someone who can translate business objectives into executable AI projects while maintaining compliance with corporate governance and data privacy requirements.

Schedule

Standard business hours, Monday through Friday, with travel to plant sites as program delivery requires.

Compensation

$120,000 to $150,000 annually

What You'll Do

You will lead opportunity discovery across the organization by conducting stakeholder interviews to capture business objectives and constraints, translating high-level goals into clear and actionable AI project requirements. Working with individual departments, you will build straightforward business cases that baseline current performance and quantify projected benefits, creating the foundation for a prioritized AI program roadmap.

On the program management side, you will work with business stakeholders to prioritize initiatives by value, impact, labor hour avoidance, and risk, organizing the roadmap into short iterative deliverables sequenced by business impact and feasibility. You will run a stage-gated delivery model from scope through pilot to scale, aligned with the company's center of excellence project governance framework, and establish decision forums, risk controls, and incremental result checkpoints throughout each initiative. You will also partner with business and IT teams to develop the data infrastructure and tooling needed to support the program roadmap over time.

In the delivery phase, you will ensure that AI agents and workflows are properly transitioned to and owned by the relevant business stakeholders, and that AI becomes integrated into day-to-day processes rather than remaining a discrete project. You will engage with change management to drive adoption, make program value visible and auditable through consistent tracking and reporting of benefit metrics including savings, waste reduction, and efficiency improvements, and share AI knowledge across the organization to build internal capability and help stakeholders identify new use cases in their own processes.

From a governance standpoint, you will partner with Legal and HR on data privacy and AI use policies, and ensure all solutions comply with IT cybersecurity and risk guidelines.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Program Management, Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
3 or more years of experience leading data, AI, or automation programs within manufacturing operations, with a demonstrated track record of delivering hard dollar savings and labor hour avoidance
Mastery of program management disciplines including business case development, roadmap planning, stage-gate delivery, and financial tracking
Experience working across cross-functional stakeholder groups including Operations, Sales, Marketing, IT, HR, and Finance
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present program status and financial outcomes to senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications

Background in manufacturing or industrial operating environments
Lean or Six Sigma certification, with experience embedding AI or automation within continuous improvement programs
Hands-on experience with Microsoft AI platforms including Copilot Studio, Microsoft Fabric, or Azure AI Foundry
Experience with change management frameworks in a manufacturing or multi-site environment
PMP or equivalent program management certification

Compensation and Benefits
