Electrical Design Technician (BIM)Professional Summary

The Client, a leading global engineering and professional services firm, is seeking an accomplished Electrical Design Technician to join our dynamic electrical design team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in converting complex design concepts into high-quality, constructable project deliverables. Utilizing advanced Revit and BIM applications, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to develop fully coordinated 3D models and 2D construction documents, with a specialized focus on advanced technology and data center markets. This position offers a strategic opportunity to leverage your technical modeling expertise while executing sophisticated, high-impact projects.

Core Responsibilities

Manage Model Setup: Lead the setup, management, and maintenance of Revit BIM models in strict alignment with internal and client-specific modeling standards.
Execute 3D and 2D Deliverables: Utilize Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks to generate fully coordinated, clash-free 3D models and precise 2D construction drawings.
Coordinate Across Disciplines: Liaise and collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary design leads—including Civil, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Technology teams—to ensure seamless model integration.
Translate Engineering Intent: Transform technical markups and conceptual directives from senior engineering staff into detailed, constructable design documentation.
Analyze and Estimate Project Scope: Review provided design markups and verbal directions to accurately estimate the labor hours required for modeling and design tasks.
Conduct Quality Reviews: Leverage Bluebeam and other markup tools to perform quality control reviews of drawings and resolve coordination clashes before final submission.

Required Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in drafting, design, or building information modeling is preferred.
Revit Expertise: Minimum of three (3) years of dedicated, hands-on experience utilizing Revit for electrical design.
Industry Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in electrical systems design within the construction or engineering industries.
Codes & Standards: Demonstrated understanding of how municipal codes, industry standards, and construction specifications shape and govern design decisions.
Technical Knowledge: Basic comprehension of wiring and cabling connections, electrical circuitry, and device-to-equipment links.
Software Proficiency: Competency with Bluebeam or comparable design markup and review software.
Communication & Organization: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple overlapping tasks and estimate project hours systematically.

Preferred Qualifications

Specialized Environments: Prior design and modeling experience within data center, mission-critical, or high-tech industrial facilities.
Advanced Electrical Systems: Comprehensive knowledge of power distribution, cable routing, and lighting systems.
Schematic Design: Familiarity with complex electrical systems and the production of accurate one-line diagrams.
