Location: Bakersfield, CA 93313
Job Type: Full-Time Contract
Duration: August 23, 2026 – November 30, 2026
Schedule: Sunday – Saturday | 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM (40 Hours/Week)
Setting: Retail Healthcare Clinic / Community Vaccination Program

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a community-based immunization program. In this patient-facing role, you will administer a variety of vaccines, including Influenza, COVID-19, MMR, and other CDC-recommended immunizations, while delivering exceptional patient care in a retail healthcare setting.

The ideal candidate is adaptable, customer-focused, and passionate about improving community health through preventive care.

Key Responsibilities

Administer vaccines including Influenza, COVID-19, MMR, and other routine immunizations according to CDC guidelines.
Assess patient eligibility and review medical history before vaccine administration.
Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide appropriate post-vaccination care.
Educate patients on vaccine benefits, potential side effects, and aftercare instructions.
Maintain accurate documentation of all vaccinations and patient interactions.
Follow infection prevention, safety, and clinical protocols at all times.
Collaborate with pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Demonstrate flexibility to support changing schedules and community vaccination demands.
Maintain a professional, compassionate, and patient-centered approach during all interactions.

Minimum Qualifications

Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience, including immunization or vaccination experience.
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification.
Strong medication administration and clinical assessment skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and within a collaborative healthcare team.
Must not appear on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
High School Diploma/GED (verification required).

Preferred Qualifications

Previous retail clinic, public health, or community vaccination experience.
Experience administering multiple vaccine types.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Work Schedule

Sunday – Saturday
10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
40 Hours per Week
Flexibility with scheduling is required.
