Senior/Lead SAS Programmer

Minneapolis, MN / San Jose, CA / New York, NY
(Hybrid Model | Remote option available for exceptional candidates)

W2 Contract

$60-$70/HR on W2

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior SAS Programmer with 10+ years of expertise to support data-driven initiatives across multiple business domains. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills, deep analytical capabilities, and experience working in complex, regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and optimize SAS programs for data analysis and reporting
Perform data extraction, transformation, and validation from multiple sources
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, data engineers, and stakeholders
Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards
Support development of statistical reports, dashboards, and datasets
Troubleshoot and resolve data and programming issues efficiently

Required Qualifications:

10+ years of hands-on SAS programming experience
Strong expertise in Base SAS, SAS Macros, and data step programming
Experience working with large, complex datasets
Solid understanding of data warehousing and ETL processes
Experience in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, banking, or pharma) is a plus
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills

Preferred Skills:

Experience with SQL and relational databases
Familiarity with reporting tools and data visualization platforms
Knowledge of statistical methods and data modeling techniques

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field

Soft Skills:

Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently in a hybrid or remote environment
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
