Job Description

Castle Engineering is seeking a motivated individual to join our team of professionals. Individual will work full time as a Product Developer in the R&D group for a major food manufacturer. Individual will interact with the company’s R&D team and provide product development support across multiple innovation projects.

The ideal candidate will identify & conduct R&D needs to establish competitive scoping for food product projects along with cost optimization. Candidate should have a proven record of executing development and driven for results. Candidate will apply scientific principles to new and existing formulations, manage multiple assignments and demonstrate the ability to complete work with minimal guidance.

Responsibilities

Conduct product benchmarking and evaluations
Develop prototype formulations and all aspects of competitive product attributes
Formulation cost optimization
Collaborate with ingredient suppliers & ensure product specifications are accurate
Develop well supported recommendations on new product formulations
Execute bench-scale formulations development, testing and pilot plant-scale support
Reports project status, scope changes and other critical information to project leaders
Travel to production plants as required for plant trials and development activities

Qualifications:

Ability to integrate with existing company staff
Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
Ability to work independently with minimal guidance
Proven results leading to commercialization while meeting project deadlines
Experience in food manufacturing, cheese & potato products industry preferred
Food Science, Food Engineering, with 3-5 years development/formulation experience
Excellent problem solving skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Energetic, team player, creative thinker and influencer

Job Types: Contract, Full-time
