Full Job Description

SUMMARY:
The In Vitro bioassay analyst is an entry level role and will be responsible for assisting in the development and qualification of cell-based potency and ELISA/immunology-based drug products. They will also be responsible for the on-time release and stability of raw materials, in-process, finished pharmaceutical drug substances and drug product and non-routine testing of drug product in a cGMP environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Adhering and following cGMPs guidelines and procedures.
Maintaining the laboratory in an inspection-ready state.
Performing cell-based potency and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)/immunology-based assays in 96 well plate based format.
Performing cGMP testing in support of all raw materials, in-process, finished products and stability samples in cell-based potency assays, cytotoxicity testing and immunological assays in a cGMP environment.
Generating, compiling and evaluating data for technical reports to support uninterrupted commercial supplies.
Maintaining and improving knowledge of analytical techniques and procedures. Evaluating results against defined acceptance criteria.
Preparing and executing laboratory SOPs and reports, as assigned.
Contributing to team building, training and problem-solving initiatives internally and across sites.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, biology, molecular biology or other related degree concentration (required).
At least one year experience in an academic cell biology laboratory or in a regulated pharmaceutical or medical laboratory (required).
MS in biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, or a related field (preferred).
Experience with the application of aseptic cell culture and 96-well format bioassay techniques for potency determination of drug products (preferred).
Technical experience with cell-based bioassays and ELISA (preferred).
Demonstrated proficiency in use of software such as JMP and Prism for data analyses (preferred).
Excellent communication (professional verbal and written), interpersonal and organizational skills, demonstrating attention to detail and able to work in a team and individually.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
Ability to learn new techniques, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies.
We also require candidates to be competent with IT systems, and in particular Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.
