Full Job Description

Institute on Aging is reshaping what it means to age well. We are on the forefront of innovative care models that help older adults and adults with disabilities stay independent, connected, and thriving in their own communities.

We're looking for a Community Events Coordinator to build and run the special events that connect our community to IOA's programs, while also keeping our own staff connected to one another through internal gatherings. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role for someone who loves the details of great event planning and wants their work to have a real impact on the lives of older adults and their families.

What You'll Do

Plan, promote, and run bi-monthly community events at our Enrichment Center, from dementia-specific caregiver education to professional lectures and client and family appreciation events
Build and maintain referral source relationships through virtual meetings, onsite networking events, and VIP tours
Represent IOA at outside conferences, community events, and pop-up tables to grow our visibility and brand
Partner with Marketing and Philanthropy to plan and help execute our annual fundraising gala and other donor engagement events
Collaborate with program leaders to develop event marketing materials and keep our promotional toolkit current
Work cross-functionally with Culture, Organizational Development, and Learning and Development on internal events and an annual events calendar
Identify creative opportunities, including technology-forward events and community touchpoints that support caregiver recruitment
Track event ROI, manage vendor quotes and invoices, and keep mailings and follow-up on schedule

What You Bring

4+ years of experience in events planning or a related field
A working knowledge of, or genuine interest in, care for older adults and adults with disabilities
Excellent organizational, planning, and presentation skills, with the ability to juggle many moving pieces on a timeline and budget
Strong, warm communication skills with speakers, attendees, and stakeholders of all kinds
A team-first mindset and the flexibility to adapt when plans shift
A valid driver's license (having your own car is a plus), and the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events
Comfort with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook; familiarity with WordPress and CRM tools is a plus
A Bachelor's degree is a plus but not required
