Full Job Description

About the Opportunity

A growing, multi-location organization is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to serve as the primary owner of its business intelligence and analytics environment. This high-impact role will partner with Finance, Operations, Technology, and external technology vendors to develop reporting solutions, improve data quality, optimize analytics platforms, and deliver insights that support business decision-making.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical professional who can combine strong SQL, data engineering, and business intelligence expertise with the ability to independently manage projects, solve complex data challenges, and improve enterprise reporting capabilities.

This is a remote 1099 Independent Contractor (IC) opportunity for candidates located within the United States.

Key Responsibilities

Own and enhance the organization's business intelligence ecosystem, with a primary focus on Snowflake and Domo, including dashboards, reporting solutions, data models, and analytics workflows.
Design, develop, and maintain executive dashboards, KPI reporting, and operational analytics within Domo to support leadership and business teams.
Develop and optimize Snowflake data structures, including schemas, warehouses, roles, permissions, and reporting datasets.
Build, maintain, and improve data pipelines, transformations, and reporting workflows to increase data accuracy, reliability, and accessibility.
Perform data validation, auditing, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve reporting discrepancies and data quality issues.
Partner with internal stakeholders and external technology vendors to support integrations, automation initiatives, and platform enhancements.
Support API-based integrations, automated workflows, and connectivity between enterprise applications and analytics platforms.
Optimize BI platform performance, support user access management, and implement data governance and security best practices.
Translate business requirements into scalable analytics solutions that improve operational visibility and decision-making.

Qualifications

3–5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a related technical role.
Advanced SQL skills with experience developing complex queries, analyzing data, and optimizing performance.
Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including schema management, warehouses, roles, permissions, and data modeling.
Advanced experience with Domo, including dashboard development, cards, dataflows, data lineage, and platform optimization.
Experience with ETL/ELT processes, data transformations, and analytics engineering best practices.
Familiarity with REST APIs, authentication methods, and enterprise system integrations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate complex data issues.
Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly with business leaders, technical teams, and external vendors.
Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver results in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting multi-location, distributed, or franchise-based organizations.
Experience working with sensitive or regulated data environments.
Familiarity with HIPAA compliance requirements and data privacy best practices.
Experience managing relationships with third-party technology vendors.
Experience improving reporting automation, analytics maturity, and data governance practices.

Compensation: $95,000–$120,000 annually, depending on experience
