About Us
Minneapolis Radiation Oncology (MRO) is the largest physician radiation oncology practice in the Upper Midwest. MRO has an opening for a full-time Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Medical Physicist to work in the Twin Cities metro area. MRO currently has a physics group comprised of 16 physicists and 15 dosimetrists who provide radiation oncology physics services to eight departments in the greater Minneapolis & St. Paul metro area, with additional centers in Northern MN and Western WI. All clinical sites are accredited by the ASTRO APEx accreditation program. MRO is also currently in the process of developing a CAMPEP accredited physics residency program with the intent to establish the residency program clinically by Fall 2026.

The Role
MRO currently has an opening for a full-time Board-Certified Medical Physicist to work in the Twin Cities metro radiation therapy centers which utilize the full complement of Varian products, including TrueBeam and incoming Edge Linacs, ARIA Record & Verify system and Eclipse Treatment Planning Software, with the opportunity to provide HDR brachytherapy at our Regions clinic in downtown St. Paul. This is a team-based role, working alongside board-certified senior level physicists.
The successful candidate will be joining our cohesive physics group providing the full range of medical physics support for our radiation therapy departments. This includes performing periodic calibration and QA for treatment machines, CT simulators and image guidance systems. This position will also participate in and supervise patient-specific QA, treatment planning/dosimetry for stereotactic treatment procedures, treatment chart checks and provide support and consultation to radiation oncologists, dosimetrist and therapists.

Clinic Information
MRO has aggressively invested in new equipment and technology to streamline clinical services and delivering state of the art radiotherapy to patients. Recent upgrades include eight new TrueBeam and VersaHD linear accelerators, CT simulators and new software solutions. Physicists are highly respected team members in all of our clinics, and physics equipment needs are strongly supported by management.
MRO provides a wide array of QA equipment and software, including portal dosimetry on both Varian & Elekta platforms, IBA Bluephantom2, FilmQA Pro, Mobius3D & MIM SureCalc secondary check software, VisionRT and Identify surface monitoring systems, MIM Protégé AI for AI based OAR contouring, Doselab and Radformation software for machine QA, SRS MapCheck and Stereophan phantom for SRS commissioning and complex SRS QA, and other equipment and measurement devices that support SRS, SABR and HDR programs.
Minimum Requirements:
· Board Certified in Therapeutic Medical Physics by the American Board of Radiology
· Master’s Degree in Medical Physics, Radiological Sciences
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience with Linear Accelerators
· Experience with Record and Verify Systems
· Experience with Treatment planning systems
· Familiarity with IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, motion management, and SRS/SBRT

Starting pay range for experienced Medical Physicists is based on qualifications between $180,000-$250,000. Competitive salary and potential sign-on/relocation bonus are based on relevant experience and qualifications. MRO pays costs associated with ASTRO, AAPM, ABR memberships and certifications as well.
