Full Job Description

Job Title: Staffing Director/HR

Reports to: Administrator

Position Summary: The Staffing Director/HR role is to recruit, train, and retain staff, develop the schedule for caregivers and ensure shifts are covered. DHS 83 CBRF Certifications and experience as a caregiver are required. Work with the Clinical Nursing Supervisor in managing the caregivers, and assist with assigned administrative duties. All responsibilities will be conducted in a manner that is consistent with the philosophy of Elder Care Cottages of Wisconsin.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Scheduling:

Creation and implementation of the staff schedule on the When to Work scheduling software
Receiving scheduling calls and filling shift needs both in office and on call (after hours, weekends, and holidays)
Creation of holiday schedules
Maintain accurate Attendance Policy incidents log and PTO Bank.
Hiring, interviewing, and orientation of staff
Maintain staff training logs, Relias training system, and staff personnel files according to DHS 83 standards
Assists Administrator, Clinical Nursing Supervisor, and Community Relations Director to ensure compliance with handbook policies
Assist Clinical Supervisor with training of staff
Assists Clinical Supervisor with med pass when needed
Assist Administrator and Clinical Supervisor with medication destruction when needed
Complete assigned duties from Administrator
Assist with answering phones and door as needed

Key Organizational Functions

To ensure the schedule is completed in a timely manner and ensure shifts are covered to include taking the floor if necessary occasionally.
Able to be on call for after hours, including weekends and holidays (via Staffing Phone)
Plans and completes duties with minimal direction from Administrator
Works collaboratively with peers and other team members
Uses tactful, diplomatic communication techniques in potentially sensitive or emotionally charged situations and maintain composure
Speaks respectfully to co-workers, staff, residents, and families
Discusses any reported complaints, problems and concerns with the Administrator in a timely and professional manner
Acts as ambassador and public relations representative to guests and visitors
Appropriately maintains all facility and resident equipment

Educational Requirements

Must be 18 years of age. High school graduate or GED equivalent required
Able to read, write and understand English
Scheduling and HR experience/training preferred
CBRF training/certifications and experience required
Maintains all certifications as required for employment
Attends and participates in scheduled orientation and in-service training and educational classes a minimum of 15 hours per year
Attends and participates in all staff meetings, projects or activities as assigned

Qualifications

Physical
Able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift more than 50 pounds
Able to stand and/or walk up to eight (8) hours per day
Able to bend, stretch, reach, crawl, kneel, lift, squat as duties require throughout the shift
May be required to transfer, lift or position residents in bed/chair, and in some cases push/pull residents in wheelchairs, weighing up to 300 pounds
Able to continuously perform both simple and difficult manipulative tasks with wheelchairs, walkers, etc., and occasionally use buttons, snaps, buckle and tie strings
Able to safely assist a resident with transfers and ambulation, requiring good eye-hand coordination and steadiness. Able to move about in tight spaces, between objects, equipment and furniture
Able to hear and distinguish normal sounds with background noises ranging from normal conversations to high-pitched sounding alarms. Able to give and receive verbal instructions, hear audible emergency signals, alarms, resident calls, and answer the phone
