Structural Engineer (High-Rise)

Location: New York, NY
Company: New Empire Corp.
Salary: $130,000 – $180,000 per year (based on experience)

Position Summary

New Empire Corp. is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with strong high-rise building experience to support the design and development of large-scale residential and mixed-use projects. This role is focused on structural analysis, design coordination, and construction support for mid-rise to high-rise buildings.

A professional engineering license is not required, but strong practical experience in structural design and construction coordination is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Lead structural design development for high-rise residential and mixed-use projects.
Perform structural analysis and design calculations for steel, concrete, and composite systems.
Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and consultants throughout all project phases.
Review and respond to shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals during construction.
Ensure structural designs comply with applicable building codes (NYC Building Code, IBC, and related standards).
Participate in BIM coordination and clash detection with design and construction teams.
Conduct site visits to monitor structural progress and resolve field issues.
Support value engineering and optimize structural systems for cost efficiency and constructability.
Assist in foundation design coordination and geotechnical integration.
Provide technical support during permitting, design approvals, and construction administration.

Qualifications

Minimum 15 years of structural engineering experience.
Strong experience in high-rise building design and construction.
Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, or similar).
Solid understanding of concrete and steel structural systems.
Familiarity with NYC Building Code and U.S. structural design standards.
Experience working in multidisciplinary BIM environments.
Strong coordination and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage complex projects and fast-paced development schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with New York City high-rise residential or commercial projects.
Familiarity with construction administration and field coordination.
Experience working directly with developers and design-build teams.
Ability to read and review architectural and MEP coordination drawings.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary: $130,000 – $180,000, depending on experience.
