Full Job Description

Wireless Systems Engineer

Position: Wireless Systems Engineer

Type of Hire: Full-Time

Location: Seattle, WA (Relocation Assistance Available) | Remote considered for senior candidates

Role Overview

As a Wireless Systems Engineer, you will be part of the team developing and implementing algorithms to enable wireless connectivity between terrestrial Bluetooth® devices and satellites. You will be involved in all aspects of the modeling, system design, and implementation of wireless communication and work with cross-functional groups of hardware-software engineers.

First Principles Engineering: Strong understanding of the whys behind the whats; ability to extrapolate from first principles to complex system design.
High Learning Agility: Love to learn; grounded approach to recognizing weaknesses and taking initiative to sharpen engineering foundations.
System-Level Design and Analysis: Understand the requirements flow-down process and quickly iterate on evolving requirements.
Excellent Communication Skills: Effectively convey ideas and communicate technical topics with engineering, build staff, and operations; run self-directed design reviews.
Anticipation of Needs: Identify problems, think creatively, and rapidly produce reliable and cost-effective solutions for an early-stage company environment.

Basic Qualifications

2+ years of directly relevant experience
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferred) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
Strong understanding of communication theory & signal processing algorithm design (channel estimation, equalization, beamforming, timing recovery, coding, error correction, etc.)
Knowledge of wireless communication protocols such as 5G/LTE/WCDMA/GSM, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, 802.11ad/ay, or Bluetooth®/BLE
Expertise in developing signal processing and wireless communications systems (FSK/OFDM/MIMO, etc.) with hands-on lab testing and characterization experience
Experience with MATLAB or Python and/or C/C++ for algorithm development, modeling, and simulation
Experience with High Level Synthesis (HLS), silicon prototyping, FPGA development, and emulation systems
Experience with system bring-up on silicon/FPGA/SoC and use of lab equipment (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, etc.)
Ability to work independently and learn new technologies, network protocols, and tools rapidly
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability and willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment
Availability for extended hours when critical project milestones require it
Passion for building state-of-the-art software systems

Strongly Desired

5–10 years of relevant experience
Experience with multi-radio coexistence management
Experience in modem architecture, microprocessor architecture, hardware and software control
Experience in low-power algorithm design for power-critical applications

ITAR Requirements

This position is subject to U.S. Government export control regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (“green card holder”) as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).

Pay: $140,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
