Operations Manager – Finance & Administration

Who You Are

You are a hands-on operations leader with a strong accounting background. You're comfortable reconciling accounts, reviewing financial reports, managing budgets, and making sure transactions are coded correctly—while also leading people and keeping daily operations moving.

You can move easily between the financial details and the bigger operational picture. One moment you may be reviewing a budget variance or correcting a coding issue; the next, you may be coaching an employee, improving a workflow, coordinating a vendor, or resolving a member concern.

You enjoy bringing structure to busy environments. You don't need a corporate playbook handed to you—you like helping build the systems, controls, and SOPs that allow a team to work more accurately and consistently.

Who We Are

Lake Waynoka is a private lake community in Sardinia, Ohio, serving residents, property owners, and members through a wide range of community operations, services, facilities, and infrastructure.

Our responsibilities span office administration, member services, property operations, water and sewer utilities, grounds and facilities maintenance, financial management, and community support.

As our community continues to grow, we're focused on improving our internal operations, strengthening financial oversight, documenting processes, and building systems that allow leadership to focus on long-term planning, infrastructure improvements, and future expansion.

We're looking for an Operations Manager – Finance & Administration to become a trusted partner to our General Manager and help lead the organization into its next chapter.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll help run the internal engine of the community—balancing hands-on accounting responsibility with staff leadership, process improvement, and daily operations.

Lead day-to-day office, administrative, member-facing, and community operations
Supervise and develop office staff, including employees responsible for AP and AR
Oversee reconciliations, financial reporting, operating budgets, and three separate capital funds across two related organizations
Review transactions to ensure expenses are coded accurately to the correct general ledger accounts, classes, departments, and cost codes in QuickBooks
Help allocate shared expenses appropriately between the two organizations and investigate financial discrepancies or variances
Work closely with an external accounting advisor on reporting, internal controls, and higher-level accounting guidance
Develop and implement SOPs that improve accounting accuracy, workflow consistency, and team accountability
Coordinate staff scheduling, facilities, maintenance, utilities, vendors, and other community operations
Resolve escalated member or resident concerns professionally and effectively
Partner with executive leadership on operational planning, process improvements, and long-term initiatives

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings a combination of hands-on accounting capability, operational leadership, and people management experience.

Experience managing operations, accounting, finance, office administration, property management, community associations, municipal operations, or a similar environment
Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, financial reporting, budget management, general ledger coding, and expense allocation
Experience overseeing AP and AR processes and reviewing the work of accounting or administrative staff
Ability to read balance sheets and income statements, review budget-to-actual performance, and identify financial discrepancies
QuickBooks experience; familiarity with classes, departments, cost codes, or comparable accounting structures is strongly preferred
Previous experience supervising, coaching, and developing employees
Experience creating, improving, and implementing SOPs, controls, and operational processes
Strong communication, organization, judgment, accountability, and emotional intelligence
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a hands-on, on-site leadership role

Preferred Experience

Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:

HOA or Community Association Management
Property Management
Municipal or Utility Administration
Accounting or Finance Operations
Office Management with Financial Oversight
Community, Club, or Recreation Operations
Nonprofit Operations Leadership
