Full Job Description

Craftsmen Contractors is hiring for a QC Documenter position for the Canton, MS, area. This is for an ongoing commercial project. The work schedule is Monday through Friday (sometimes Saturdays), working day shifts.

We need someone with mechanical and plumbing experience who is detail-oriented. Must be able to use an iPad and navigate the Procore System. You do not need to know Procore, but you must be able to understand it when it is presented.

This is a QC position that will report to the QC Manager. This would be a temp position for now, but with a very strong possibility of becoming a permanent position.

Pay is $25 - $27/hour depending on experience.

Weekly pay by direct deposit.

No per diem is offered for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Utilize an iPad to accurately complete inspection forms, upload photographic evidence, and manage field logs directly within Procore.
Perform physical walkthroughs to verify that installed equipment matches the exact details listed on Procore specification sheets and submittals.
Photograph and document installed commercial mechanical (HVAC) and plumbing systems to verify proper placement, quality, and compliance.
Cross-reference physical equipment serial numbers, models, and plumbing layouts against approved engineering blueprints.
Work closely with the field superintendent and project managers, actively learning advanced QC protocols to scale into higher-level inspection roles.

Requirements & Qualifications:

2–3 years of experience in commercial construction, specifically dealing with mechanical systems (HVAC, ductwork) and plumbing layouts.
Proven, hands-on experience using Procore and iPads for field data entry and management.
Strong baseline understanding of commercial plumbing blueprints, mechanical equipment submittals, and construction terminology.
Ability to spot minor discrepancies between a physical installation and its written documentation.
Ability to navigate active commercial construction sites, climb ladders, and spend extended periods on your feet.
High motivation to learn new industry regulations, code requirements, and advanced QC methodologies.

This field-based role focuses on verifying and documenting the installation of commercial mechanical and plumbing systems. Using an iPad and Procore software, you will cross-reference on-site progress with engineering forms and specifications to ensure absolute accuracy. This position offers long-term career growth, with opportunities to acquire advanced QC skills and certifications.
