Full Job Description

Universal Traffic Service is a full-service supply chain management company based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As an employee-owned business, we invest in the people and systems that keep our operations sharp and we’re looking for a Systems Administrator to help us do exactly that.

This role sits at the core of our IT infrastructure. You will work with a small support team and manage the systems that our business depends on every day from Active Directory and network reliability to virtualization, disaster recovery, and Microsoft 365. You’ll be a hands-on owner of the environment you help build and maintain.

This is a full-time, in-office position based at our Grand Rapids corporate headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

Administer and maintain Windows Server environments including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO, and IIS
Monitor and tune server performance; apply security hardening best practices across the environment
Manage network infrastructure including VPN, VLAN tagging, firewall rules, ACLs, and NAT configurations
Support and configure networking equipment to maintain reliable, segmented network architecture
Automate administrative tasks using PowerShell and CMD scripting
Administer Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, Entra ID, and hybrid deployment configurations
Manage virtualization platforms including Hyper-V and VMware/vCloud environments
Own disaster recovery planning and execution: incident response, BaaS, DRaaS, and on-call coverage

Experience and Skills Required

Solid hands-on experience with Windows Server administration (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO, IIS)
Working knowledge of enterprise networking concepts: VLANs, VPN, firewalls, ACLs, and NAT
Proficiency with PowerShell and CMD for automation and troubleshooting
Experience managing Microsoft 365 workloads including Exchange Online, Entra ID, and hybrid setups
Familiarity with Hyper-V and/or VMware virtualization platforms
Experience with or strong understanding of BaaS/DRaaS solutions and incident response procedures
Strong communicator who documents well and follows through under pressure
Self-starter who takes ownership of the environment and proactively identifies improvement opportunities

Pay: $85,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
