Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Chief Engineer to lead our facilities and engineering operations. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the maintenance, repair, and management of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems across our manufacturing and industrial sites. Your leadership will ensure that all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. As a key member of the management team, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, manage maintenance teams, and coordinate complex projects to support our operational excellence. Your expertise in engineering troubleshooting, facilities management, and safety compliance will be instrumental in maintaining a safe, reliable, and high-performing environment.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise facilities maintenance teams to ensure timely repair and upkeep of mechanical systems, electrical systems (including high and low voltage), plumbing, HVAC units, and industrial equipment.
Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to optimize asset lifespan and reduce downtime.
Oversee troubleshooting and repair of complex mechanical systems using schematics, technical manuals, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
Manage projects related to facilities upgrades, HVAC system repairs, electrical installations (including high voltage), and mechanical system improvements with a focus on safety regulations and quality standards.
Ensure all work complies with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies; conduct safety audits and promote a culture of safety awareness among staff.
Review technical schematics, wiring diagrams, plumbing layouts, and control system documentation to facilitate effective repairs and upgrades.
Monitor maintenance activities through CMMS reports; analyze data to identify areas for process improvement or cost savings.
Collaborate with management to plan budgets for maintenance operations while managing resources efficiently.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, safety incidents, and equipment performance for compliance purposes.

Qualifications

Proven management experience leading facilities or engineering maintenance teams within manufacturing or industrial environments.
Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems repair—including HVAC systems—and electrical experience with both low voltage and high voltage applications.
Strong understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics reading, industrial troubleshooting techniques, and engineering principles.
Hands-on experience with plumbing system maintenance and repair; familiarity with safety regulations related to electrical work at various voltages.
Proficiency in using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters; experience managing facilities using CMMS platforms.
Excellent supervisory skills combined with the ability to lead projects from planning through execution while managing multiple priorities effectively.
Fluency in English; strong communication skills for coordinating with teams and documenting technical procedures clearly.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes is highly desirable; project management experience is a plus.
Certifications related to electrical work or mechanical systems are advantageous; familiarity with schematics interpretation is essential.
