Job description

Vanpro/VPMA, Inc. supplies Defense, Aerospace, Automotive and Medical Device Manufacturers with precision machined components and sub-assemblies. VPMA has earned a reputation as one of the country’s premier suppliers of tight tolerance, precision machined magnesium components. We specialize in complex machining with full 5-axis machining from a state-of-the-art, temperature controlled facility located 45 miles north of Minneapolis, MN. We have an exciting opportunity for experienced, goal oriented CNC Machinist Set-Up in Manufacturing to join our team.

Job Responsibilities:

Advanced CNC Machinist that can perform complex setups.
Programming.
Setting up and programming various jobs and running short-run progressive machining operations.
Assist in design of high-level production fixturing.
Works closely with Quality Assurance and Project Engineers for development of new programs, and optimization of existing jobs.
May assist in training of operators.
Monitors operator status and coordinates appropriate resolution with appropriate personnel.
Review of all Job History information, Job travelers, Job Setup Information, Inspection Instructions.
Loads and unloads machine fixtures and work pieces
Perform established in-process inspections and translate data into any necessary program adjustments.
Identifies and documents improvements for safety, Precision and Efficiencies
Maintains clean, safe, organized environment.

Skills/Education

Ability to work independently
High mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Intermediate math skills, including geometry, trigonometry, etc.
Ability to communicate well, verbally and written, with all team members
Understands and practices safety standards as highest priority
Proficient with standard inspection equipment
Proficient in blue-print reading and understanding of GD&T
Understanding and experience with tight tolerances, tight positional tolerance, and GD&T tolerances
Ability to operate a CMM
Ability to run multiple machines which would all have long cycle times
Proficient in setting up jobs from documented history of Job Setup Information, including tool lists, fixturing information, speeds/feeds, blueprints, written specifications
Strong machining skills for all CNC vertical milling equipment
Trouble shoots and problem solves effectively
Technical degree in machining or 3 plus years’ experience in machining
Cooperative attitude, team player

Pay & Benefits:

Wage will be commensurate with work experience and the willingness to learn and grow with our organization. Candidates are compensated based on hourly wage.

Work Schedule:

Monday-Thursday 6:00 am-4:00pm standard work schedule
Flexibility to work Overtime as needed
