*About the Your Position*

Watch Technicians is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Bench Jeweler to handle professional jewelry repair, restoration, and ring sizing. Our business thrives on high-quality service, accountability, and trust.

This is a retail bench position focusing on precise, efficient turnarounds for customer-owned jewelry. Please note: This role requires professional jewelry-making and repair experience. It is not an industrial welding or fabrication position.

Key Responsibilities

Jewelry Repair & Restoration: Perform sizing (up and down), chain soldering, clasp replacements, and shank repairs on gold, silver, and platinum.
Stone Setting & Laser Welding: Confidently set, reset, and tighten diamonds and colored gemstones in various settings (prong, channel, bezel, etc.). Utilize precise bench torches or laser welders specific to jewelry applications.
Prong Work: Rebuild, re-tip, and replace worn prongs safely without damaging stones.
Finishing: Polish, buff, ultra-sonic clean, and rhodium-plate pieces to a flawless factory finish.
Intake & Estimates: Collaborate closely with the sales team to provide accurate technical repair assessments, checking for stone stability and structural integrity to minimize liability.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum 2+ years of professional Bench Jeweler experience in a retail repair or trade shop environment (Required).
Proven mastery of jewelry-specific tools: Micro-torches/jeweler's torches, flex shafts, polishing wheels, and standard bench tools.
Strong technical knowledge of metals: Proficient handling of karat gold, platinum, and sterling silver.
Precision and Caution: Ability to inspect pieces thoroughly to avoid quick, unsafe repairs that could compromise customer property.
Ability to work in-person at our St. Louis area location (with flexibility for nearby sister locations if needed).
