Full Job Description

We are actively seeking experienced Landmen and Title Abstractors for ongoing contract roles supporting projects in the Utica region, with opportunities to start immediately.

These positions are primarily remote; however, preference will be given to candidates located in Ohio who are available for occasional courthouse visits as needed (no overnight travel required).

Key Responsibilities

Perform oil & gas title abstracting and land research for Ohio and surrounding regions
Review deeds, leases, assignments, probate records, and related public documents
Accurately record and report findings using internal platforms and Microsoft Office 365
Manage workflow independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards
Attend occasional courthouse visits (minimal travel, ~25% or less)

Qualifications

Four-year degree or equivalent experience
Two years of title abstracting experience in Ohio or Pennsylvania or four years of oil & gas abstracting experience in other regions or five+ years of equivalent oil and gas/land tech experience
Strong computer skills, including MS Office 365 and Adobe
Ability to learn new platforms and technology quickly
Ability to meet stringent deadlines and manage workload independently
Strong written communication skills for effective collaboration at all levels
Reliable high-speed internet connection and computer (Windows preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

JD, Land Management degree, or related Master’s degree
Ohio courthouse experience
Willingness to travel locally as needed
AAPL membership
