Full Job Description

Summary

The Rehabilitation Director provides visionary leadership in the planning, implementation, and advancement of rehabilitation services for Pope’s Place. This role is responsible for providing Physical Therapy services part-time while leading the design and scaling of a high-quality, person-centered, efficient, and cost-effective rehabilitation program. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, leads rehabilitation operations through the principles of high reliability to support the mission and culture of safety. Key responsibilities include leadership & staff management, clinical care & quality assurance, and program development.

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions

1. Leadership & Staff Management

a. Day-to-day operations of the Rehabilitation program include staffing, budgeting, billing procedures, scheduling, training, and supervision of direct reports.

b. Promote a culture of safety, high reliability, collaboration, professional growth, and excellence in service delivery.

c. Conduct performance evaluations and provide mentorship and training opportunities.

2. Clinical Care & Quality Assurance

a. Develop, provide, monitor, and document resident Physical Therapy treatment plans. Collaborates with providers, caregivers, and family members to provide effective therapies.

b. Oversees durable medical equipment by making equipment recommendations, completing justification letters, working directly with vendors, and ensuring preventative maintenance is completed as appropriate.

c. Ensure rehabilitation services are evidence-based, person-centered, and compliant with regulatory standards.

d. Monitor clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.

e. Maintain accreditation and licensing requirements for all rehabilitation programs.

3. Rehabilitation Program Development

a. Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of rehabilitation program that address the needs of medically complex children and young adults.

b. Identify opportunities for service expansion, innovation, and improvement.

c. Develop and execute rehabilitation program operational plan aligned with the organization’s strategic plan and goals.

d. Develop and implement rehabilitation department policies, procedures, job aids, guidelines, and education as applicable.

e. Explore and implement new technologies and treatment modalities to enhance programs and services.

f. Stay current with industry trends and emerging practices in rehabilitation and program development.

g. Foster a culture of innovation and responsiveness to changing needs.

4. Follows all of Pope’s Place policies and procedures including HIPAA.

5. Other duties as assigned.

2. Regulatory; knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations pertaining to home health care, specifically pediatric group homes, and adult family homes.

7. Communication and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively in order to understand concerns, assess conditions, and instruct others. Ability to read, write, and speak English clearly. Ability to work collaboratively with parents/guardians, caregivers, and multi-disciplinary team.

8. Emotional Stability; patience and calm demeanor. Ability to manage emotions and demonstrate leadership at all times, during emergencies and other stressful situations. Resilient.

9. Confidentiality; adherence to organization’s policies, procedures, infection prevention, safety, confidentiality policies and procedures; HIPAA and all state and federal medical privacy laws.

Required Qualifications

Current Physical Therapy License valid in the State of Washington.

Masters Degree from a program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE).

3 years supervisory and clinic operations experience

3 years of clinical experience as a Physical Therapist

Proficient in computer and MS 365

Current Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR

Must pass a State and Federal Background Check, including fingerprints

Valid State Driver’s License

Must maintain current vehicle insurance

Proof of licensing required vaccinations

Behavior Management Training within 60 days of hire

Abuse Prevention Systems Sexual Abuse Awareness Training within 90 days of hire

DDA Developmental Disabilities Specialty Training within 90 days of hire

DOH In Home Services Orientation Class within 90 days of hire

Must acquire and provide proof of 30 hours of CEUs per year

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate Degree from a program accredited by the CAPTE.

Experience working with children with development delay or disability preferred

Completion of a one (1) year clinical residency specializing in pediatric physical therapy

Experience with clinic development

Work Environment

This position is inclusive of all resident care programs of Pope’s Place.The position requires flexibility as hours of work are subject to operational needs. Share administrative on call duties on a rotating schedule.

The environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and other potential hazards. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required and follow strict guidelines to protect self and residents from infectious disease; use proper lifting techniques at all times and pursue help as needed.

Physical Demands

This position requires full range of motion and eye-hand coordination. Must be able to walk, bend, stretch, lift and stand. Must be able to distinguish between smells and colors, hear audible sounds. The position may require lifting and moving residents. Must be able to lift 40 lbs. and always use proper lifting techniques; pursue assistance with lifting as needed.

Travel

Out of town travel may be required for this position.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $176,000.00 per year
