Bradenton Christian seeks qualified, committed Christian candidates for the position of Preschool Director, who will faithfully support Bradenton Christian School’s mission statement to prepare the hearts and minds of God’s covenantal children in partnership with the home and church for service in God’s world. It is the Preschool Director’s responsibility to carry out the policies of the School Board as they relate to the function of the school, to the classroom, and to their association with students and parents.
Summary:
The Preschool Director reports to the Elementary Principal and is responsible for the overall administration and management of the preschool program. This includes supervising staff, developing curriculum, maintaining licensing requirements, managing finances, and fostering positive relationships with parents and the community.
In addition to administrative and leadership responsibilities, the Preschool Director will serve as a classroom floater as needed. The Director will provide classroom support for any class that does not have a Preschool Aide assigned and will act as the afternoon floater between classrooms. This includes assisting teachers with supervision, classroom management, transitions, student engagement, and maintaining appropriate staff-to-student ratios while ensuring a safe, nurturing, and productive learning environment. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates a love for God and a strong Christian walk; mentors and models for students and staff what it means to be a follower of Christ. Exemplifies Biblical principles and standards of Christ-like excellence in every facet of learning and leadership.
- Leads by example in modeling a Christ-centered lifestyle and integrating Biblical principles into all aspects of preschool leadership.
- Facilitates opportunities for students and staff to engage in spiritual formation activities, including chapel services, prayer, and Biblical instruction.
- Develops respectful and trusting relationships with each individual student and facilitates opportunities for spiritual, academic, and behavioral growth from a Christ-centered Biblical worldview.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the preschool, including scheduling, staffing, and facilities management.
- Develops and enforces policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of children and staff.
- Maintains accurate records and documentation related to enrollment, attendance, and health and safety regulations.
- Coordinates with licensing agencies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Recruits, hires, trains, and mentors qualified preschool teachers and support staff.
- Conducts regular performance evaluations and provides constructive feedback and professional development opportunities.
- Fosters a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
- Develops age-appropriate curriculum and educational programs that align with best practices in early childhood education.
- Ensures that curriculum meets the developmental needs of children and supports their social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and spiritual growth.
- Implements strategies for individualized instruction and assessment to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Develops and manages the preschool budget, including tuition rates, expenses, and revenue projections.
- Monitors financial performance and implements cost-saving measures as needed.
- Ensures that financial records are accurate and in compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with parents, including regular updates on student development and preschool programs.
- Organizes family engagement events and workshops to involve parents in their child's education and promote a sense of community.
- Collaborates with local organizations and agencies to enhance preschool programs and services.
- Builds and maintains positive relationships with parents, school leadership, church partners, and fellow staff through consistent communication and collaboration.
- Provides classroom coverage and support as needed, particularly in classrooms without a Preschool Aide assigned.
- Serves as the afternoon floater between preschool classrooms.
- Assists teachers with supervision, classroom management, transitions, student engagement, and daily routines.
- Maintains appropriate staff-to-student ratios and supports a safe, nurturing, and productive learning environment.
- Participates in faculty meetings, educational conferences, in-service opportunities, workshops, and other training seminars.
- Develops and maintains knowledge of research, developments, and best practices in early childhood education.
- Enforces safety and security standards for students, staff, and visitors.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- A clearly articulated testimony of personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior along with weekly in-person attendance in a Christian church.
- A clear understanding of and support for covenantal Christian education along with a desire to lead students in the development of a Christian worldview.
- Demonstrates spiritual maturity and a growing commitment to the Christian faith.
- Possesses the ability to demonstrate a philosophy of Christian education and personal faith aligned with the mission and Statement of Belief of Bradenton Christian School.
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, or a related field preferred; equivalent education, training, and experience will be considered.
- *Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain all Florida credentials required for a VPK Program Director, including a Florida Director Credential, VPK Director Endorsement, and Staff Credential.
- Has a natural ability to connect with and communicate with children.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with the proven ability to maintain poise, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Possesses the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with families, staff, and administration.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High attention to detail required.
- Must be a team player with a desire to help and serve others.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
