Aledo is a city in Mercer County, Illinois, United States. The population was 3,613 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Mercer County. It is the home town of country music singer Suzy Bogguss. The High School Mascot is the Aledo Green Dragons. School colors are Forest Green and White. The Class of 2006 had 71 students. A band shell was recently added to downtown Aledo. Aledo celebrated its sesquicentennial in September 2005.
