Brooklyn is a city in Poweshiek County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,367 at the 2000 census. It is located just off of U.S. Highway 6 and a few miles north of Interstate 80. Near the center of town Brooklyn boasts a large display of flags from each of the fifty states, the four branches of the military, and a smattering of others. It bills itself as "Brooklyn: Community of Flags."
