Campbell is a city in Mahoning County, Ohio, United States. The population was 9,460 at the 2000 census. The city's name is generally pronounced "camel" by local residents, however it is properly pronounced Camp- Bell. The city has also been nicknamed Soup City. Campbell is served by a branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County. Campbell was formerly known as East Youngstown, Ohio, and this designation still appears on real estate deeds for the city.
