The city is the county seat of Laurens County . Dublin is the main city in the Dublin Micropolitan Statistical Area, the third largest such area in the state with a total population of 56,434. Only the LaGrange and Statesboro micropolitan areas are larger. Dublin is not considered a metropolitan area.
