They are separated by the Columbia River that forms the boundary between Chelan and Douglas County. East Wenatchee is the location of the Pangborn Memorial Airport. East Wenatchee is part of the 'Wenatchee, Washington Metropolitan Statistical Area'. East Wenatchee's population was 5,757 at the 2000 census.
