Emerson is a village in Nebraska,United States. Emerson was named after the poet Ralph Waldo Emerson. It is part of the Sioux City/Iowa/Nebraska/South Dakota Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 856 at the 2000 census. Emerson is located in three counties: Dakota County, Dixon County, and Thurston County. Emerson is thus the only community in Nebraska in three counties.
