Fairfield is a city in Butler County, Ohio, United States, near Cincinnati. The population was 42,097 at the 2000 census. On December 28, 1994, the city withdrew from Fairfield Township. There was another town named Fairfield, Ohio that was located Northeast of Dayton, Ohio. That Fairfield was merged with neighboring Osborn, Ohio to make up the present day city of Fairborn, Ohio in 1950.
