Forest City is a city in Iowa, United States. The population was 4,362 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Winnebago County and is also partially located in Hancock County . It is the headquarters Winnebago Industries, which manufactures motorhomes. It is also the home of Waldorf College, a small college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Forest City claims to be the smallest city in the United States with its own YMCA. Pilot Knob State Park is located a few miles east of the town.
