Franklinton is a town in Franklin County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,745 at the 2000 census. It is home to a plant operated by Novozymes, a corporation specializing in biofuels from biomass and animal waste along with cellulite-derived ethanol fuel and the enzymes needed for these processes. The facility was toured in February 2007 by President George W. Bush.
