Hampshire, Illinois

Hampshire is a village in Kane County, Illinois, United States. The population was 2,900 at the 2000 census. A 2003 special census revealed the village has 3,805 residents. The village is currently at a crossroads, as several new residential developments are on the horizon, some with plans for over 1,000 new homes. Much of the growth is expected to occur north and east of the village. Additionally, Hampshire has recently annexed the gas stations, restaurants, and other establishments at the junction of I-90 and U.S. 20, increasing its commercial tax base. Brier Hill Crossing, at Brier Hill Road and I-90, is a development under construction that is slated to bring a new interchange, industrial and commercial development , and residential development to Hampshire.
