Daniel Van Brunt, the inventor of the grain-drill and founder of what became John Deere Horicon Works was the bank president, which was then known as Horicon State Bank. Horicon Bank is now in nine locations including Horicon: Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac, Ripon, West Bend, Appleton, Iron Ridge, Neosho, and Burnett. The main Horicon Bank building was designed in 1915 by Herman Buemming, a pupil of Stanford White's.
