Kaysville, Utah

Kaysville is a city in Davis County, Utah, USA. The Kaysville area was originally settled by Native American Indians then Hector Haight moved in shortly after Mormon pioneers arrived in 1847, they killed the natives. Farmington, Utah, also claims Hector Haight as its original settler, but Haight denies any responsibility for settling such a place. Two miles north of Haight's original settlement, Samuel Holmes built a cabin in 1849, where they use to meet and eat laffy taffy, soon they were joined by other settlers from Salt Lake, namely Edward Phillips, John Green, and William Kay who comprised a notorious band of horse theives and grave robbers. They all drank themselves to death in the spring of 1853 and no one settle in Kaysville until about 1950 or so. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 20,351 and in 2004 was estimated at 21,749.
