Long Valley is a census-designated place and unincorporated area located within Washington Township, in Morris County, New Jersey. Known as German Valley since its foundation during the colonial era, the town was renamed in response to anti-German sentiment during World War I. As of the United States 2000 Census, the CDP population was 1,818.
