Lynchburg is a community in south-central Tennessee. It is governed by a consolidated city-county government unit whose boundaries coincide with those of Moore County, Tennessee. Lynchburg is best known as the location of the Jack Daniel's distillery, whose famous whiskey is marketed world-wide as the product of a city with only one traffic light. Despite the operational distillery, Lynchburg's home county of Moore is a dry county. The aforementioned law dates from the time of prohibition and can only be repealed if at least 1,000 resident voters sign an appropriate petition.
