Monrovia is a town in Morgan County, Indiana, United States. The population was 628 at the 2000 census. It is the home of Indy Racing League driver Gary Bettenhausen, as well as Indianapolis Colts Wide Receiver John Standeford and award-winning basketball coach Branch McCracken. In 2006, the Monrovia High School Band won the Mid-States Band Association Class A Championships at Kings Mill, OH. This was the first band championship at any level for Monrovia High School. The school won a state championship in Academic Superbowl Competition in 1988.
