Paul, Idaho

Paul is a city in Minidoka County, Idaho, United States. The population was 998 at the 2000 census. The first settlers in the area came because of the construction of the Minidoka Dam. Early setters wanted to get ahead of the rush for the coming homesteading. Later the railroad provided additional business for the town. The town was officially incorporated in 1907. Paul is located in the Magic Valley region of Idaho. The plains of the Snake River Basin stretch for many miles in all directions, with a few hills and mountains visible in the distance. A rich farmland surrounds the city and agriculture dominates its way of life. It lies at the intersection of State Highways 25 and 27, and a short distance north of Interstate 84. The Snake River also passes a few miles to the south.
