Rogersville, Tennessee

Rogersville is a town in Hawkins County, Tennessee, United States. It was settled in 1775 by the grandparents of Davy Crockett and is the second-oldest town in the State. Tennessee's oldest courthouse, first newspaper, and first post office are each located in Rogersville, and much of the Town is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The population was 4,240 at the 2000 census and is 5,100 according to a 2004 estimate by the Chamber of Commerce. Rogersville is the county seat of Hawkins County .
