Stroudsburg is a borough in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States. It is located in the Poconos region of the state, approximately five miles from the Delaware Water Gap,at the confluence of the Brodhead and Pocono creeks. It is the county seat of Monroe County . In 1900, 3,450 people inhabited Stroudsburg; in 1910, 4,379; and in 1940, 6,186 people lived here. The population was 5,756 at the 2000 census.
