Valmeyer is a village in Monroe County, Illinois, United States. The population was 1200 at the 2006 census. The original site of the village in the American Bottom floodplain was inundated in 1993 by a historic flood of the Mississippi River. After the flood receded, the village relocated to higher ground about 2 miles away.
