Allenhurst is a Borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the borough population was 718. In 2006, Allenhurst ranked 131 in Forbes Magazine's list of the most expensive ZIP codes in the United States. Allenhurst was incorporated as a borough by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 26, 1897, from portions of Ocean Township. Allenhurst is an affluent community situated along the coast of the Atlantic Ocean within close proximity to New York City. Many of the large homes that line its streets are meticulously maintained to preserve their unique character. Transaction prices in the community have increased dramatically since 2000, as more families have discovered the quiet seashore town. Allenhurst features many large Victorian and Tudor-style homes.
