Coldwater is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 12,697. It is the county seat of Branch County 6 . The city is located at the center of Coldwater Township, though it is politically independent. I-69 and US 12 intersect just east of the city. M-86 has its eastern terminus at a junction with US 12 about two miles west of the city. Coldwater is at . The ZIP code is 49036 and the FIPS place code is 17020.
