Erie is a town located partly in Boulder County, Colorado and partly in Weld County, Colorado. As of the 2000 census, the town population was 6,291 although the town is experiencing rapid growth. In January 2005 the population was estimated to be 12,000. In the southern part of Erie, on Baseline Road, is Erie Municipal Airport.
