Kalispell is the largest city and commercial center of Northwest Montana. The name Kalispell is a Salish Indian word meaning "flat land above the lake." The local newspaper is The Daily Inter Lake. Kalispell is served by Glacier Park International Airport for air travel. For train travel, it is served by Amtrak Empire Builder.
