Kansas City, Kansas is the third largest city in the U.S. state of Kansas and the county seat of Wyandotte County ; it is part of the "Unified Government" which also includes the cities of Bonner Springs and Edwardsville. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 146,867. Situated at the junction of the Missouri and Kansas rivers , the city is opposite Kansas City, Missouri and is included in the bi-state Kansas City Metropolitan Area, of which it is a satellite city of the anchor city.
