Marana, Arizona
Marana is a growing town located northwest of Tucson in Pima County, Arizona, United States. The Town incorporated in 1977. The population was 13,556 at the 2000 census. A July 1 2005 estimate by the Pima Association of Governments put Marana's population at 26,725. According to 2005 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 26,098. Marana was the fourth fastest-growing place among all cities and towns in Arizona of any size from 1990 to 2000. The town extends along Interstate 10 from the line between Pinal and Pima County to the Tucson city line, excepting the area around the unincorporated community of Rillito. The city has a more rural character than Tucson and a rich history of farming and ranching. Business have been attracted to the town because of its well-managed growth.
