New Albany is a village in Franklin and Licking Counties in the U.S. state of Ohio, just northeast of the state capital of Columbus. Most of the village is located in Franklin County; only a small portion of the village extends into adjacent Licking County. The population was 3,711 at the 2000 census. However, New Albany is developing rather quickly; according to the U.S. Census Bureau's 2005 population estimates, the village is now home to 5,827 residents.
