Orthopedic SurgeonThe Orthopedic Surgeon functions as a member of the professional clinical staff at the Togus VA Medical Center in Augusta, ME. Surgeons are organizationally assigned to the Surgical Service and report directly to the Chief of the Surgical Service. Surgeons are granted clinical privileges by the Professional Standards Board of this facility concurrently with the recommendation of the Chief of Surgical Service. Surgeons must be Board Certified or Board Eligible. Surgeons are expected to provide outpatient care in a clinic setting, and inpatient surgical care. S/he will perform major and minor surgical procedures that are specified in his/her clinical privileges.
