Nurse: Utilization ReviewSt. Joseph Medical Center - Kansas City, MOJOB SUMMARY Works collaboratively with physicians concurrently at the point of care to capture complete clinical documentation to assure that the appropriate Diagnostic Related Group (DRG) has been assigned. Develops and implements an education plan to communicate the importance of documentation improvement to members of the medical staff and other members of the healthcare team. Works closely with the Concurrent Review Coordinators (CRCs) to ensure that documentation of diagnoses and any co-morbidities or complications are a complete reflection of the patients clinical status and care. Assists with Utilization Review functions to help justify medical necessity and length of stay. Reviews patient records for select Core Measure documentation.
