Job Description · Evaluate materials used for building implantable medical devices, including hermetic enclosures and microelectronics assemblies · Identify and test the most promising materials in order to meet implant reliability requirements · Ensure that the materials and components in a device will behave as the design team anticipates they will behave from a reliability perspective · Test and analyze how manufacturing processes impact material behavior · Working with part suppliers, perform experimental designs to optimize material performance · Using analytical tools, conduct detailed root cause investigations of materials and components failures.
